I need to provide a business card as PSD/CMYK: Web Coated (SWOP) V2. How do Igo about there in Gimp 2.6.7 (Ubuntu 9.10)?I designed the card initially in Inkscape &will import it into Gimp as a PNG. This isactually the first time I am using a color profile,so any tips would be appreciated.
The easiest way to convert your advertising artwork to PDF for delivery to Washington State Magazine is to export as a single page EPS file and then use Acrobat Distiller. Before using Distiller, however, you must download a special Job Options settings file. (See Step 2 below for details.)
As a quick easy test, print the swatches with the SWOP Coated v2 profile first, then the Custom CMYK profile. You need to make sure the SWOP v2 and Custom CMYK profiles are in the list when you print. InDesign will not automatically convert your images to the profile on load.
Overall, the Custom CMYK profile does a better job in terms of gamut and colour accuracy. I might have expected the SWOP Coated v2 profile to perform better, as it is a profile specifically made for printing the swatch book. 7211a4ac4a
